If you’re a resident of Sydney’s Inner West, you can take advantage of Ivy Sydney Roofing Specialists’ roofing services. With a range of roofing services, we work with commercial, residential, and Strata clients.
Our services are available to commercial and residential property owners, whether you’re looking for roof repairs, gutter replacement, or an inspection. We provide tiled roof repairs, metal roof repairs, guttering repairs, gutter replacements, and brand-new roofing installations.
If you own or manage a Strata building, we can establish a maintenance schedule for inspections, install and certify your roof anchor point annually, and carry out any roof replacement and repairs necessary.
Our skilled team of knowledgeable roofing experts is fully trained, licensed, and OS&H certified. They are equipped to install brand-new roofs or carry out extensive (or minor) repairs on any roof.
Though the Inner West’s tree canopy is only 20%, with a commitment to double that by 2036, you may face moss issues on your roof in the years to come. If you notice this growth, it’s best to have a soft wash cleaning completed to prevent it from damaging your roofing. We utilise extension poles and ladders to gently scrub every centimetre of your roof without risking damage.
Nobody is prepared for emergencies, at least, not a roofing emergency. If you’re dealing with the worst-case scenario, don’t hesitate to reach out to Ivy Roofing emergency repairs. We are always available, so when you run into trouble, we respond quickly.
If you need roof repairs or it’s time for an upgrade, get in touch with us to arrange your free inspection. We’ll send a team member out to have a look and offer advice on the next steps – maybe it is time for an upgrade, but a quick repair might do the trick. We’ll also inspect the fascia, gutters, downpipes, eaves, and flashings to ensure there’s no corrosion or damage.
Your guttering system is key to preventing flooding if there’s a deluge of rain. The gutters carry water from your roof to the downpipes and away from your home. If they’re the wrong size, angled incorrectly, damaged, or dirty, you’re at risk of flooding.
If you notice pooling water, or damage, or you have concerns about your gutters – get in touch with us to arrange an inspection. The system may need a slight adjustment, additional downpipes, or total replacement. Either way, we’ll take a detailed look to decide the best course of action.
We’re happy to visit you any time, but it’s particularly important to prepare for bad weather. So, before the rainy season is set to start, be sure to carry out an inspection of your own and reach out to Ivy Roofing Specialists to double-check your work. It’s cheaper and easier to make little repairs or address small issues now before they have a chance to spiral into major issues. The weather will only worsen those small issues and it could put your insurance policy at risk.
If you need roofing repairs or gutter replacements, Sydney – contact Ivy Roofing Services to schedule your consultation. We can arrange regular maintenance checks for commercial and Strata buildings, handle repairs for every property, or make recommendations based on your situation. You can rely on Ivy for quality work, stellar service, and reliable services.
All coloured materials will change colour when exposed to UV light – the paint finish on your car, the clothes on your line, and so on. When it comes to steel building materials, the extent of colour change is influenced by factors such as the colour itself, the aspect, the design of the structure and the environment. Dark colours are inherently prone to more noticeable colour change than lighter colours. Individual perceptions also come into play. How you see colour can differ greatly to someone else.

It is a smart idea to clean your gutters every time you experience severe weather conditions, but if you can’t commit to that then aim for at least once a year. Like roof inspections, gutter maintenance is something that you can easily outsource to the professionals, like us here at Ivy Roofing. We’ve been installing internal box gutters and external gutters around Sydney for over 20+ years and know how to repair or replace gutters that have rusted, started leaking, been poorly installed or are suffering from general wear and tear.
No. In summer a lightweight roof made from COLORBOND® steel or ZINCALUME® steel causes less heat to be radiated into your home because it cools down faster at night. And in winter, the same steel roof, properly insulated, helps keep the heat inside. This can result in reduced cooling and heating costs.

COLORBOND® steel and ZINCALUME® steel are thermally efficient roofing materials, radiating less heat into your home as they cool down faster at night. Lighter coloured roofs, irrespective of material, reflect more heat than darker shades. The result of this being less heat available to be radiated into your home. To reduce the transmission of heat into a building, insulation can be easily incorporated during the installation of the steel roof sheeting.
There are two types of insulation commonly used during the installation of steel roof sheeting. They are:
– Reflective foil, commonly referred to as ‘sarking’:
Reflective foil laminates which are commonly used to provide heat insulation under roof sheeting can serve a dual function as a vapour barrier, simply by thoroughly sealing the foil overlaps with moisture impervious adhesive tapes. The laps should be about 100mm and kept in close contact when positioning the laminate so the tape can be readily applied. The laminate must be allowed to drape between the roof supports so the cold temperature of the roof sheeting will not be transmitted to the laminate by contact. If this were to happen condensation could form on the underside of the laminate and may drip into the ceiling space.
– Combined foil and glass/wool insulation blanket:
This blanket should be installed over the battens with the glass/wool insulation facing up in temperate zones and facing down in tropical zones. For advice appropriate to your area, please phone BlueScope Steel Direct on 1800 022 999. There should be no sagging between battens to avoid air spaces between the fibreglass and the underside of the roof sheeting.
